This is a digital summary of the Summer Skills I have put together for you and your child. These activities are not meant to be independent, busy work for your child. These skills and games are mostly designed for you to play with your child. The practice skills you will find on this page have directions that you will have to read with your child in order to properly complete the activities. Some of the games will require you to pull together and prepare a few materials. The activities are meant to be a fun way for you and your child to work together and reinforce some of the skills that we have learned this year.
That being said there is nothing more important than spending time with your child experiencing new things and exploring the world around you. I encourage you to take your child places, look at the world, attend festivals, parades, and cookouts. Go to the beach, the park or just a walk around the neighborhood. Spend this time together!
I hope you enjoy this bonding time. Please do not send any of the completed skills to school in September. They are yours to keep. :)
Have a wonderful summer! Come to visit me in September! Mrs. Kimberly Goldthwait
Websites: Some sites you should check out for literacy and math are located under Educational Links on this website. FYI Zearn requires a login and password, which was sent home with your child's end of the year papers.

Read Works Passages - (Comprehension Practice)There are 3 of these, “Cloudy and Sunny”, “The Treasure Map” and “Ben Invented Swim Fins” along with comprehension questions for each. Please read these passages to your child, unless he/she can read them independently. Then work with your child to answer the questions after each passage.
Writing I have enclosed a “What a Sentence Needs” blank writing template. Use it to reinforce your child’s writing. Have them write about things they are doing, would like to do or have done during the week. IE: If going to the beach or on vacation write about what you need to bring or afterwards write about what they did while they were there.
